Another cup exit!

For the 2nd week running we exit another cup competition.

Steven Aiston opened the scoring after only 6 minutes, but Chemfica equalised only 5 minutes later. 1-1 at half time before Chemfica took the lead with around 20 minutes to go. A 3rd was added in injury time with a very harsh penalty being given that was put away.

Chemfica continue being our bogey team winning their 7th game out of 7 against us.

WCFC Announcement

WCFC Announcement!!

Winlaton Community Football Club would like to share some fantastic news with its members and the local community. After many years of hard work and dedication we have finally had our proposal for Asset Transfer of Axwell View Football pitches accepted at Council Cabinet on 20th Feb 2024! Although there is still paperwork to be complete, this will see the club take on a 35 year lease of the football pitches and changing pavillion. This is fantastic news as it allows us to start planning to shape the future of the club which will give our members and local community the sporting facilities they deserve.

Whilst this is a long term project our first priority will be to secure the pitches and make the current changing pavillion usable where it meets FA standards. A lot of this can be done via funding but the club must also play its part in fundraising. Keep your eyes peeled for more info regarding our plans and how you can help shape the future of Axwell Playing Fields and Winlaton Community Football Club!

We’d like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has supported us to date and we’d like to especially thank Liz Twist and the Blaydon and Winlaton Councillors for their assistance in pushing this project over the line. 👏👏👏

6 in a row

It’s 6 wins in a row for Winlaton as we come from behind to beat Premier Division Haltwhistle in the Bill Gardner Trophy.

An early goal from Liam Morris put us ahead before Andrew Wright saved a Haltwhistle penalty. Halty then scored 2 quick identical goals. Both headers from corners.

Si Reed was then brought down in the box and Ryan Creighton scored the resultant penalty levelling it up at 2-2 at half time.

Early in the second half it was the same again, Si Reed brought down and Ryan Creighton scoring the penalty. Matty Statton made it 4 before Halty scored their 3rd to keep the game interesting.

Liam Morris scored his 2nd to make it 5-3 which was followed up by a great own goal to finish things off.
