End of Season Report

END OF SEASON REPORT

As most of you will know our season unfortunately came to a sudden end in early March due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The FA ended all seasons from steps 3-7 with immediate effect.

Our first season in the Northern Alliance Premier Division saw us sitting in 7th (out of 16) place when the season came to end. When everyone had us written off as relegation contenders we’ll very much take that. The season had many highs – the 3-1 semi final win away to Newcastle Blue Star in front of a record crowd probably topped it off while the lowest point was the County Cup Semi-Final defeat.

This Thursday should have seen us compete in the Bill Gardner League Cup Final vs Newcastle Chemfica. Unfortunately it’s not to be. The final has been provisionally arranged for the week commencing July 25th if the government allow football to be played by then. So fingers crossed.

Would also like to give a big shout out and thank you to our club sponsors. DP Fasteners, Armo Skip Hire, Stansa Security N.E, PCN Ltd, Emperor Scaffolding, The Queens Head, The Turf, Ellis Signs, The Highlander, The Crown and Cannon and John Westgarth
We wouldn’t be able to operate without the support from yourselves.

Keep an eye out on our Facebook and twitter accounts for further updates over the summer. We have a new monthly fundraiser launching this Friday so please try and get involved if you can.

Thanks a lot for your support and we look forward to when next season can get under way. In the meantime –
STAY HOME – PROTECT THE NHS – SAVE LIVES
